PETER CHARLES
A father & his son creators of luxury leather goods.
ARTISAN LEATHER WORKER, CREATOR AND MAKER OF LUXURY LEATHER OBJECTS
To help you get to know me better, you will find below a short presentation of my journey.
A double heritage
A first inheritance from my grandfather: a French craftsman established in Burgundy in the post-war years, was already passionate about working and processing leather. Also, he had focused all his ambitions and his talents as an artisan on making
A second: my childhood revolved around memories tinged with impressions and many days spent in the company of an artisan shoemaker near my home. The awakening of my senses and the desire to perpetuate my grandfather's love of leather developed thanks to the touch and smell of different leathers. Holding skin of exceptional suppleness and softness in my hands always makes me shiver.
At 18, I made my choice to devote myself fully to the leather profession. What followed was an atypical journey strewn with difficulties to overcome. Self-taught in learning the manufacture of luxury leather objects, it is the demand for improvement, rigor and the love of careful work that have been my convictions.
Holding the skin, breathing it, sliding it between my fingers, passing it from one hand to the other without awkwardness or breakage, have always given me sensations.
My passion focused on exotic skins with very diverse patterns and colors.
Today, it is to my son that I pass on the passion and values of this profession while waiting for him to complete his theoretical and practical apprenticeship specializing in “saddlery and leather goods” at the Grégoire Ferrandi School.
